MQS LTD

The fabrication shop is divided into 4 areas – two for general fabrication/profile cutting, one for exotic metals (stainless steel, super duplex, aluminium, the other one for blasting and painting etc.).

The principle fabrication shop is totally covered and is approximately 13885 metres² in area. The shop contains a 3 story offices complex for fabrication, QA/QC and engineering personnel plus shower room, locker room and toilets. The first fabrication area is split into 2 bays, each bay equipped with 2 x 14 tonne SWL fully certified overhead cranes, the other fabrication area is split into 3 bays, each bay equiped with 2 x 14 tonne SWL fully certified overhead cranes.

The exotic metal shop is totally covered and is approximately 900 metres² in area. This shop is equipped with timber clad work benches to prevent dissimilar metal cross contamination and has 2 x 6 tonne SWL fully certified overhead cranes.

The main fabrication shop has a new ventilation system and recent checks by the Baku Hygiene Inspection Centre (under the control on the Ministry of Health) have demonstrated that the system is effective in maintaining an acceptable working environment.

Steelwork

MQS has fabricated a wide range of structural components from pipe supports to complex structures in a variety of materials from local uncertified steel to high grade steels, stainless steel and aluminium. We have a comprehensive range of welding procedures covering all grades of steel.

MQS has a CNC plate profile cutting machine capable of handling plates up to 3.5 metres wide, 16 metres long and 300 mm thick. We also own an air operated guillotine capable of cutting plates up to 6 metres long x 2.4 metres wide x 20 mm thick.

Plate rolling facilities are available for plates up to 3 metres wide and 40 mm thick.

Pipework

MQS has a complete range of welding procedures for pipework and have the capability to fabricate pipework in all grades of carbon steel, duplex, super duplex, stainless steel, copper/copper alloys and aluminium.

Pressure testing equipment is available to test up to 690 bar.

MQS also have a number of personnel trained in Holland by Ameron for the fabrication, installation and testing of GRE pipe-work and are currently contracted to Petrofac for all GRE pipe-work on pumping stations in Azerbaijan and Georgia for the new BTC pipeline.

Ductwork

MQS owns a complete range of sheet metal working equipment including rollers, guillotine, ball swedgers, lockformers, folders and riveting equipment and has completed the whole of the West Azeri ductwork fabrication and is currently engaged on fabricating the whole of the East Azeri ductwork – all in stainless steel in thicknesses up to 4 mm.
