Blasting & Painting
The blast & paint facility is the largest in Baku , totally covered and is approximately 3400 metres² in area. The blast bay has been designed to accommodate the maximum sized fabrications transportable by road within Baku and is fully outfitted with blast pots, grit recovery system and adequate ventilation and lighting. Movement of materials into the blast shop and through into the paint shop is via a floor mounted 2 rail system with 4 wheel transport bogeys.

The paint area is fully equipped with air compressors, air distribution systems and adequate ventilation and lighting. The main paint and blast areas have new ventilation systems and recent checks by the Baku Hygiene Inspection Centre (under the control on the Ministry of Health) have demonstrated that the system is effective in maintaining an acceptable working environment.

This shop is equipped with 2 x 6 tonne SWL fully certified overhead cranes. Should it be necessary to handle fabrications outwith the capacity of the overhead cranes the facility has adequate headroom to accommodate mobile craneage. MQS regularly uses a 50 tonne mobile crane within this area.

Estimated maximum throughput for this facility for a normal working week is 60 tonnes when using AIOC system A or E specifications.
